Upon entering Seri Talam Zaiton, you'll be enveloped in a warm, inviting ambiance, perfect for a leisurely meal or a sweet indulgence. The tranquil setting, often frequented by friendly regulars, allows you to savor the moment as you relish delightful traditional treats. The café's cozy environment is reminiscent of home, where senior citizens mostly run the shop, adding a touch of love and care to the service you receive.

The star of the show at Seri Talam Zaiton is undoubtedly their extensive range of homemade kuih, particularly their signature kuih talam. With over 35 types of these delectable bites to choose from, including Seri Muka and the visually stunning kuih "Malaysia" adorned with the Jalur Gemilang flag design, you’re in for a vibrant culinary experience. As Erms Y remarked, it's a "fest of traditional Malaysian delicacies" with flavors that are just sweet enough to satisfy without overwhelming your senses. Each bite transports you to an era of rich traditions and cherished recipes passed down through generations.

Customers rave about the calm ambiance and the affordability of the food, making it not just a café but a place where you can enjoy hearty meals without breaking the bank. Mohd Syafiq aptly describes the feeling of contentment that arises from savoring traditional Malay dishes. Whether you’re in the mood for lunch featuring masakan lauk kampung or you're simply looking to indulge in a variety of delectable kuih, this café promises a culinary adventure that leaves your tummy happy.

It’s important to remember that this charming café may not offer the fast-paced service you might find in larger chains. As Syikin Ahmad points out, having patience and appreciating the care put into each dish is part of the experience. The atmosphere here is about savoring your meal while treating the senior staff with the respect they deserve, akin to cherishing your own family’s home cooking.

In a world full of fast-food options, Seri Talam Zaiton stands out as a tribute to Malaysian culture. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite or spending the afternoon immersed in flavors of yesteryear, this café is more than just a place to eat—it's a community hub where the aroma of tradition wafts through the air, inviting you to take a seat and indulge.

Visit them at their new location at 13, Jalan Sri Rejang 1, Taman Sri Rampai, Setapak, 53300 KL, and discover why this café has become a local favorite. Makcik is very famous with her signature kuih talam. More than 35 types of talam you can try... from Seri Muka, Kuih Lapis, or so-called kuih "Malaysia" because of Jalur Gemilang flag design and many more. No wonder a lot of people in this country are Talam Dua Muka. Lol, ignore for my inside joke. Anyway, i've been ordering like 20 times, i guess. Anytime being invited for an open house or any occasion that provides me food, Kuih Bakar Pandan Bijan is my all-time favorite to bring as my gift! Whoever is my friend? For sure, i would let you guys to taste the real kuih bakar with pure flavor, the crunchy bottom layer, and smell soooo good! If you want to try it, you need to 2 days order because every day sold out. Early morning at 7am, you need to queue first to get taste the kuih bakar. If you are lucky, then you can get it during lunchtime. If you are unlucky, go talk to annabelle, lol. If you want some suggestion or which kuih to try, put on the comment below. I would respond based on your info.

This place is run by senior citizens mostly, hence if you expect to have services like McDonald or Starbucks, please dont come here and leave bad review just because you feel not welcomed. Have some courtesy and respect please, like how we respect our mothers and grandmothers. Regular customers here normally are those who don't bother to snap food pictures and post in social media. What matter most is to have peaceful meal with friends and family while enjoying the good taste of the food. Ok here comes the review about the food. As what it is called ; Talam Zaitun, their specialties are all sort of kuih talam - tepung talam, seri muka (pulut sekaya), bingka, kuih suji, koleh kacang, kuih lapis and also other traditional kuih like cucur badak, buah melaka, lempeng. They also served ready made mee goreng, mihun goreng, soto, lontong, and nasik lemak. Sounds like La Cucur right (if you've been to KLCC or KL Sentral that you know what La Cucur is). But from my opinion, the kuih here taste way better, as it is made by the makciks themselves. If you feel that it is pricey, then think about the honest ingredients that they put into the food (santan, etc) to produce the best kuih ever. Why would you berkira of spending extra 40-50sen for a good traditional kuih? You can opt to tapau, and if you are plannning to have kenduri or event, i fully recommend to book kuih from Talam Zaitun (in advance please). I think this place deserved a fair review and good star rating...hence im putting all this long comments here. *This is a non paid review and Talam Zaitun didnt even ask their customers to rate them in Google.
